The plastic drainage tubing we told you about on Monday has been installed and covered over with dirt. Workers have also removed the grass on the Belvedere’s west lawn in preparation for re-seeding.
The city has taken these flood control measures to reduce the occurrence of Belvedere Swamp Syndrome, that periodic condition where moisture gathers in large quantities on top of the impervious grass.
