The New Broken Sidewalk Is Almost Ready

Hello again. Sorry the transition has taken a little longer than anticipated, I just got my Internet up and running today after three long weeks going without. This is the first post from New York just to let our readers know that Broken Sidewalk isn’t going anywhere.

Now that I can actually connect to the site, the schedule should move more quickly and new stories by me and contributing witers should begin to appear online in the next week or two.

Thanks for hanging in there while this rather tumultuous process plays out. I have aleady begun to miss Louisville in just three weeks of being away, but I am having a great time in New York City as well. Stay tuned as we hope to get Broken Sidewalk up and running again as soon as possible.

A big portion of the move to New York involved a desire to live in a real functioning city to experience the benefits and challenges involved therein. To live a truly car-free lifestyle and take away experiences that living in an active city can offer.

Much of it was practical, too. Louisville offers no opportunity for architectural education and it’s about to be time for me to pursue a master’s degree in the field. I wanted to make the most of any move out of Louisville.

Louisville is still home for me. It’s much more exciting to watch and be a part of the potential of Louisville as it reveals itself over time than surrender to a city that’s already largely there. The changes will hopefully help to temper and shape my own views and ideas.

Hey Branden: I have followed your Brokensidewalk website for quite some time now. I have lived here in NYC for ten years, but I’m originally from KY. I did my undergraduate degree at U of L. I spent four years in CT in grad school before I moved here. Welcome to NYC! And if you want to hang out sometime and talk about Louisville I’d love to do that. Love to… I do miss it. Best,
