The C-J reported Friday that bids for the recently announced Riverview Park renovations in Southwest Jefferson County will be opened after today’s deadline and construction will start soon thereafter. Phase I of the $30 million master plan includes a new boat ramp and parking lot along with a new splash playground. Construction is expected to be complete in early July 2010. Improvements are expected to cost $1.2 million and are being paid with city funds and a donation from David & Betty Jones.
