It’s that time of year again and since pretty much every bracket out there has gone bust, let’s take a moment and fill out a new bracket to declare the best neighborhood of 2010.  (If you would really like to fill out a bracket, click here for a blank one.  Warning: PDF)

You might remember the epic battle last year when New Albany defeated Germantown & Friends to claim the first Neighborhood Derby crown.  This year, they return as a top seed to defend their title, but who will end up winning?  Rally up support and spread the word, the voting begins today.  These first four polls will remain open until Midnight on March 27.

Feel free to discuss your choices in the comments.

Ray, perhaps someone else on your computer or network already voted? The polling software tracks votes to avoid multiple voting issues, but maybe try a different computer or try again in a day or two. Let me know if the problem persists and I'll see if there's some other reason.

How do you vote in this thing?
And why does it say I already voted for some of the choices when my cursor hovers over them? I haven’t voted for a thing here.

I hope Old Louisville fares better this year. It has the best architecture, a ready supply of corner and liquor stores, the best bar, it’s easily walkable, has a modest number of bike lanes, nice parks, a good 24 hour diner, and a couple decent restaurants. But really, the low cost of cool housing ought to propel the ‘hood to at least the finals. Granted, more retail, another coffee shop, and more kids just kinda hanging around would be nice…Oh, and as far I know we are the only neighborhood that has graffiti referencing ‘Twin Peaks’- can anyone match that?

Hmmm…It just occurred to me that some might say having a decent year round (Farmer’s Markets only provide for so many months) grocery store more than matches ‘Twin Peaks’ references…touche. An Amazing Grace or Rainbow Blossom in Old Louisville would leave no room for doubt about it being the best neighborhood.

I’m having trouble. It doesn’t confirm if my vote goes throug, and if I try to vote on another of the polls, it says the last process is still being processed and to “wait a while.” But I also can’t even see the current results when I try to view those, so perhaps I need to download something? Not sure if anyone else is experiencing the issue also?

I’ve tried several times to vote for the Highlands but it doesn’t record my vote.
