Thousands of tiny flags crowded Jefferson Square Friday to celebrate the Memorial Day Weekend. The fluttering red, white, and blue masses appeared as dense clumps of flowers in the wind. The group responsible for the demonstration is Flags4Vets.org who described the event as “a national citizens tribute to honor fallen veterans, law enforcement, firefighters & EMS during Memorial Day weekend 2008 in Louisville, Kentucky.” On hand were representatives of each group being remembered.
Founder and Editor at Broken Sidewalk
Branden founded Broken Sidewalk in 2008 while practicing architecture in Louisville. He continued the site for seven years while living in New York City, returning to Louisville in 2016.
