The Highlands is always one of the worst hit areas in any storm. The destruction was widespread here, as always, but the massive grandeur of the trees and streets mostly free of cars in the Cherokee Triangle created another scene of winter beauty.
Several other groups have put together galleries of their own. While our list is by no means comprehensive, here are a few we found: Michelle of Consuming Louisville‘s Icepocalypse 2009 gallery, the LEO‘s Great Louisville Iceage gallery, the Ville-Voice’s Ice Tsunami photos, Our History NA’s New Albany photos, and a pretty pickle’s Ice Ice Baby gallery. Branden founded Broken Sidewalk in 2008 while practicing architecture in Louisville. He continued the site for seven years while living in New York City, returning to Louisville in 2016. Branden is a graduate of the College of Architecture at Washington University in St. Louis, and has covered architecture, design, and urbanism for The Architect's Newspaper, Designers & Books, Inhabitat, and the American Institute of Architects.
