It’s been a while since we touted Louisville’s superiority over the rest of the country. That coming in second behind Nashville thing with the 21c bathrooms really stung. The folks over at Imagine Louisville have found a few new distinctive titles to bestow on the River City. Here’s a rundown of Louisville’s new distinctions:
- Bon Appetit magazine named Louisville the 4th “Foodiest Small Town in America” in its October 2008 Issue. The magazine was particularly impressed with our mint julep and our hot brown.
- PETA also enjoys dining in the River City. The group finds the vegan pizza at the Rudyard Kipling in Old Louisville to be among the top 10 in the country.
- Next, Reason magazine named our “small town” the 4th best city for exercising personal freedom. Imagine Louisville points out that “big towns” like Chicago only rank 35th best.
- Finally, way back in July, Apartment Therapy fell in love with the 21c Museum Hotel. Apparently you can’t get fine art such as found at the Main Street museum in Chicago either.
Thanks to Imagine Louisville for keeping tabs on all the media hype surrounding Louisville lest we forget we live in that magical place by the falls of the Ohio.
