A couple weeks ago, nearly $1 million in Federal funding was approved for the Ohio River Greenway connecting New Albany, Clarksville, and Jeffersonville in Southern Indiana. More funds will be needed to complete the project, but the latest funding keeps work progressing.
The N & T reported that the final cost could be up to $5 million to finish the Greenway. Difficult work building under the K&I railroad bridge and a steep were cited as challenges. Work on a multi-use path between Silver Creek and 18th Street in New Albany is expected to begin in the summer of 2010 and wrap up in January 2011.
In the meantime, check out some photos of a completed portion of the Ohio River Greenway in downtown New Albany including the Riverfront Amphitheater that was finished last summer.
