Keep a look out for Actors Theater‘s newest marketing campaign: blood-red Dracula pedicabs. This year’s show started September 17 and runs through Halloween. Pedicabs will be out cruising 4th Street Live! and Bardstown Road through the end of October.
Actors Theater says Dracula attracts a younger audience and they wanted a marketing campaign that would catch the eye of that demographic:
Dracula is just a lot of fun, and this year, our graphic designer Matt Dobson created a new, awesomely creepy image for the show. So, when it came to deciding what to do for our marketing test, we wanted to do something that was just as fun and would get in front of younger audiences using this great image. We were approached by Derby City Pedicabs and found it the perfect solution.
They mainly function at night in high-traffic areas, which tends to translate to the bars and clubs at Fourth Street Live! and Bardstown Road, allowing us to get in front of the people who would love our show if they only knew about it. And, as Actors Theatre is a local business, it was great to support something that will make this city even more unique.
Already, people around town have started to refer to Derby City Pedicabs as “Dracula Cabs.” If all goes well, Actors Theater hopes to use pedicabs in future marketing campaigns as well. More info on the Dracula show here.
