The UPS Worldport is one of those remarkable things about Louisville. Because of the Worldport, Louisville’s airport can claim to be “the 3rd busiest cargo in North America and the 9th busiest in the world” (according to Airport Council International, 2007, PDF). (Much to the chagrin, I suppose, of many Old Louisville residents who live under the flight path.)
GOOD magazine just posted a great infographic about UPS, featuring of course, the River City. Click on over to GOOD to view a gigantic, fully legible version. For instance, did you know Worldport turns over 130 planes a day, sorts 115 packages every second, and contains 5.2 million square feet? (That’s almost two Empire State Buildings, by the way.)
