As we enter the Winter holiday season, grocery store aisles are blasting with Christmas tunes, neighborhood houses are being decked with lights, those noisy inflatables are spreading across the city like a plague, and, of course, gingerbread houses are beginning to pop-up their own sort of candy urbanism.
One of the best gingerbread structures we’ve seen in recent years was just built by the pastry team at the Brown Hotel. The confection, called “GingerBrown,” took six weeks to build and is a replica of the 16-story structure built in 1923. Check it out on the second floor lobby of the Brown Hotel at Fourth Street and Broadway. Complimentary hot chocolate and cider are served as part of the exhibit. Nice work!
