Blind Spot Art Car
Blind Spot Art Car. (Branden Klayko / Broken Sidewalk)

We’re starting up a new regular feature to profile those quirky cars that are popping up more and more around Louisville. This week, we spotted this car in front of the 21c Museum Hotel. This is an actual art car titled “Blind Spot” and sponsored by the International Contemporary Art Foundation, a branch of the 21c organization.

The car was designed by Monica Mahoney who has this to say via a paper taped to the car window:

mirror mirror on the car
who is going to change the bar
for what is bling in a car

What caught our eye was, of course, the mirror mosaic covering the tiny car. The downtown buildings refracted in the hood of the car are pretty fascinating. The Miata will be auctioned off at some point, but we didn’t look into those details. Have you seen or do you own an unconventional vehicle? Pass them along to us via email at tips@brokensidewalk.com or put them into the BS Flickr photo pool and we’ll find them there.
