With the arena set to open in less than a week, new businesses are putting on finishing touches and gearing up for game day crowds. One of those businesses, Impellizzeri’s Pizza, recently installed new signage adding another touch of neon to Main Street.

It looks like wooden pilasters were added to the structure originally built as a parking garage. Large black canvas awnings were also removed to expose large transom windows that will likely flood the new space with natural light.

As we said in February, the new Impellizzeri’s takes up about 9,000 square feet at 110 West Main Street open for lunch and dinner. While I couldn’t find any set opening date, their Facebook page as of a week ago does say “Opening soon.”

  1. I walked by there yesterday and spoke to a worker cleaning the tables. He said they are trying to get the doors open this week, with Wednesday being the goal. It is a great space with extensive stained woodwork thoughout. They did an impressive restoration. Another quality local restaurant in the arena district.

  2. Just ate there today. Gorgeous woodworking and renovation, with original artwork for sale hanging on the walls. I’m very excited about Bill Weyland’s apartments and redevelopment @ 2nd and Main. But it’s pathetic that the city could not finish the curbs and streetlights by now. And it’s unfortunate that Todd Blue will be years late to the party.
