[ Editor’s Note: Updated the closing time to reflect the excellent news that Spinelli’s will be open until 5:00 AM. ]

Announced on twitter by @Downtown_Lou, it looks like a new Spinelli’s Pizzeria has opened up on the corner of Fifth and Jefferson streets in the former location of the Down to Lunch Cafe (538 South 5th Street). According to this Biz First blurb, the new location will expand delivery west to 22nd Street and north to Jeffersonville. Better bring your appetite early, pretty much any time, as the downtown location is only open late to the tune of 5:00 a.m.

  1. We saw the banner Saturday morning and ordered pizza from them that night (Thunder) for delivery — it was a great option to feed the friends who helped us move.

  2. You need to recheck your information. According to the information I have read that will be open until 5AM not 5PM!

  3. Just as an FYI … went there today and waited 56 minutes for a single slice of pepperoni. It was delish but NOT worth my entire lunch hour. Won’t be going back, sorry

  4. It’s in the basement of the Kentucky Home Life building, which is 239 S. 5th. But the restaurant entrance is on Jefferson, around the corner form the KHL building main entrance.

  5. I have eaten there twice and the food is good. Service was fair. Pizza slices were huge. The parmesian chicken sandwich was also good. I would recommend this to anyone.

  6. Terrible customer service. I ordered a pizza from my hotel and 1 1/2 hours later the pizza was not delivered. I called them back and they said that my order slip was overlooked and my order was never made at all. I did not receive an apology and the said it would be 45-60 minutes and it would be delivered. More issues occurred because they hadto take my original order via a credit card.. I was on hold for quite sometime and eventually the manager got on the phone and I canceled my order. I agree with many of the other reviews…terrible customer service and rude employees. I will spread the word for people to avoid this restarant at all costs.
